The Small
The Small
The “Small” (we call them City Groups), is where we practice living on mission for Jesus throughout the week. These groups are places where we gather informally to understand how Jesus relates to our real lives, to serve and bless our city, and to serve each other through prayer, friendship and service. Think of it like a healthy family.
What We Do
Each month, our City Groups practice 3 rhythms at least once. We call them rhythms because we don’t want to make rules about our communities but we do want to live out the priorities that Jesus has called us to. We call them City Groups because we want all our groups to be oriented outward, with hearts for the city—not inward toward themselves. In a nutshell:
TEACH & LEARN.
Being part of an Urban Grace City Group means a commitment to regularly gather for the purpose of learning who God is and how His grace forms us and changes us.
EAT & CELEBRATE.
Healthy families take the time to celebrate the joyful events of the lives of those who belong.
SERVE & BLESS.
Being part of a City Group involves serving and blessing others on a deliberate, intentional, regular basis. We serve those who have needs and are unable to help themselves. We bless those who have basic needs met, but need to feel the grace of Jesus through undeserved acts of kindness.
Locations
Our City Groups meet across the city, each one is named for the area they meet in and are each led by our appointed leaders. Due to current restrictions, many city groups are meeting at the church or in other forms. Please contact us or talk to an elder at a Sunday service for the latest information on joining a city group.
